A. Green asked: Why not add barbecue chicken to your dinner menu?
Answer: Our food innovation team at KFC is always looking at new products and new flavors. That's what I spend a lot of my time doing every day! We'll be introducing some great new menu items later this year and in 2009.
We're sure there will be some new KFC products that you'll love!
Arlene asked: What is the coleslaw recipe? It's great!
Answer: Thanks for the compliment on our coleslaw, one of our most popular side dishes. Like the Colonel's secret recipe for fried chicken, the KFC coleslaw recipe is also a secret. Many of our restaurants do catering for events, so you can probably get a large order of coleslaw for a party at your home or for a picnic. If you want to put it in your own bowl and not tell anyone it is the Colonel's recipe and not yours, we won't tell.
Leonard asked: Are there any new healthy choices at KFC?
Answer: We believe eating sensibly, combined with appropriate exercise, is the best solution for a healthy lifestyle. KFC offers a variety of menu items for those that want lower fat, lower calorie choices, including Tender Roast and Honey BBQ Sandwiches, corn on the cob, BBQ baked beans and green beans. (Check your local restaurant for availability of all menu items.) We're also planning to introduce Kentucky Grilled Chicken nationally in 2009. It's a great non-fried product that the Colonel would be proud of. For more nutrition information, visit http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/ or pick up a nutrition brochure in one of our restaurants.
Julie Schrum asked: Can you order chicken with no breading?
Answer: The breading featuring the secret blend of 11 herbs and spices is an important part of the flavor of KFC's famous fried chicken. If you like, you can order Original Recipe chicken and remove the skin and breading.
For example, an Original Recipe without skin or breading has only two grams of fat and 140 calories. For more nutrition information, visit http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/ or pick up a nutrition brochure in one of our restaurants.
Rosemary Mccraney asked: Will there be more money saving coupons?
Answer: You can visit kfc.com and print coupons for the restaurants in your area. Visit this page: http://www.kfc.com/coupons/ageverification.asp
While you're at kfc.com, consider signing up for the Colonel's E-mail Club. KFC sends out a monthly e-mail with information on new products and promotions.
michael ENEVOLDSEN asked: Why doesn't KFC have any buffets in Portland, Ore., like you do back in Kentucky?
Answer: Many of our buffet restaurants are located in the southeast, but our franchisees have the option to include buffets when they build new restaurants anywhere in the U.S. The restaurants in Portland are franchise owned, so you might just let the management at your local KFC know that you'd love to have a buffet. If they hear from enough people, they might consider adding a buffet the next time they build a restaurant.
Debby Pethers asked: Will you ever reveal the recipe for your chicken?
Answer: I don't think the Colonel would be very happy with us if we revealed the secret blend of 11 herbs and spices! Colonel Sanders' Original Recipe is one of the world's most closely guarded secrets. To read more about exactly how carefully KFC guards the secret recipe, visit http://www.kfc.com/about/newsroom/090908.asp
Tom Thomson asked: Does your cooking oil have trans fats? We hope not!
Answer: KFC uses a zero trans fat, low linolenic soybean oil for all fried products. Our fried chicken has had zero grams of trans fat per serving since early 2007!
Julietlte Small asked: Have the spices for the chicken changed from the original recipe?
Answer: KFC is proud to still prepare our Original Recipe chicken using the Colonel's secret recipe. In fact, we recently introduced a new menu item featuring the Colonel's secret recipe -- Original Recipe Strips. They're all white meat strips prepared using the Original Recipe and pressure cooked. All the great taste of Original Recipe, without the bones. They're great for lunch or an on-the-go snack. Give them a try.
Teddi Sweet asked: In our area, KFC is combined with A&W Root Beer. Why?
Answer: Many KFC locations are part of multibrand restaurants -- where you can enjoy two great restaurant experiences under one roof. Some KFCs are combined with A&W All American Food, others share a building with Taco Bell and some are paired with Long John Silver's. It's a great concept for families who enjoy a wide variety of menu items. And how can you go wrong with a bucket of the Colonel's chicken and a world-famous A&W root beer float?
Wendy M. asked: I'd like to win a free dinner.
Answer: Congratulations. You just did! (Love the straightforward approach!)
Shontee' Moore asked: Why not add baked chicken as an option for health conscious people, who would prefer it over fried chicken.
Answer: The timing of your question is good. KFC will introduce Kentucky Grilled Chicken in spring of 09. It's a product that is so tasty, it's worthy of the name KFC. The product has been in test market for several months and has received rave reviews. We can't wait to introduce all of America to Kentucky Grilled Chicken. Meanwhile, if you are visiting Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, San Diego, Austin, Texas, or Jacksonville, Fla., stop by KFC. You can get Kentucky Grilled Chicken in those markets right now!
William Landrum asked: Did you know chicken livers are great catfish bait?
Answer: Actually, I didn't. Thanks for sharing and good luck on your next fishing trip. Enjoy your free dinner from KFC!
Anitras Jewell asked: Where do you purchase your tender chicken from?
Answer: KFC partners with the biggest and most well-respected companies in the poultry industry to bring America the highest quality chicken at an affordable price. Two of our largest suppliers are Pilgrim's Pride and Tyson.
wally Strand asked: I belong to a diet plan and would like information I can take to our next meeting.
Answer: No problem. All the information you need about KFC nutrition is available at http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/.
Michele McElroy asked: Where did you get the idea/inspiration for the KFC Famous Bowls?
Answer: The idea was to include all your favorite flavors, and layer them together in a portable and easy-to-eat dish. Our Famous Bowls have quite a loyal following.
MARVIN d JOHNSON asked: Do you still use the pressure cooker for cooking the chicken?
Answer: We sure do. Our Original Recipe fried chicken is prepared in a pressure cooker. That's the same way the Colonel cooked it, and it's the only way to make sure our Original Recipe has that great KFC taste!
Chris Leonard asked: When will you add some new flavors to your wings selection? My family loves your wings but we'd like a little more variety.
Answer: Right now, you can enjoy KFC wings and boneless wings in Honey BBQ, Fiery Buffalo, Sweet 'n' Spicy and Tangy Teriyaki flavors. In addition, if you like a little kick without the sauce, try our great sauceless Hot Wings. They're really tasty and you can eat them without worry about dribbling sauce on your clothes. We're always looking at new flavors though, so keep your eyes open in the future. By the way, our Honey BBQ sauce recently won first place in the world-famous Buffalo Wing Festival. And it was our first trip to the festival! You can read more here: http://www.kfc.com/about/newsroom/091208.asp.
